This is your chance to voice your opinion about an important issue for our community. Everyone from Eastbourne and surrounding districts are welcome.
All public authorities are required to have a system that provides support services and enable victims to report hate crime incidents.
Since July 2008, ‘Victim Support’ has provided a Hate Crime Service for East Sussex. A review of this service is being carried out by East Sussex County Council (ESCC). One of the ways they are doing this is to consult with community groups. They need to receive the opinions of the LGBT community in Eastbourne, on for example:
- Are they aware of the service in East Sussex?
- What are peoples experience of the service.
- What they want from it.
BourneOut is arranging a focus group together with ESCC, who will be facilitating the meeting.
We would like to try and arrange this sometime during the 3rd and 4th week of July (19th to 30th) on a weekday at 6-6.30pm.

The venue is still to be decided.
A voucher for £5 will be given to participants, biscuits and soft drinks are provided.
