I am a 30 year old secondary school teacher, now teaching part-time and spending part of the week as a representative for the NUT supporting teachers across East Sussex.
I was formerly head of Personal, Social and Health Education at an Eastbourne school- including responsibility for sex and relationships education and HIV awareness.
I am currently chair of the NUT's national LGBT committee, and a nominee to the South East regional TUC's LGBT Forum.
I have been involved with many education related campaigns- in particular the LGBT History Month, and will be promoting this in Eastbourne to schools and other interested parties.
I feel I should "declare" that I am a member of the Labour Party, although I have always been willing and able to work with campaigners of all parties and none in pursuit of equality and other issues.
I look forward to the challenge of supporting the work of the forum, if elected.
